Crime in Uganda by district, 2025

The Uganda Police Force recorded 196,405 cases in 2025, 10.2% fewer than in 2024 (218,715). These are cases reported to and recorded by the Police, not all crime: a high count can reflect more people, more reporting or busier policing as much as more offending.

The Police count cases by reporting unit (186 units), not by district. Where one count covers a city with its parent district, or the Kampala Metropolitan Police area (Kampala City and parts of Wakiso and Mukono), it is shown as one labelled row and never split between districts. Rates use 2024 census population and are not shown for the Kampala Metropolitan Police area.
